basswood specially graded and sorted for quality. Expert judges
of wood, they choose slats with the right natural color and grain
to best work with the desired finish. The
finish itself is applied only after the wood is selected, cut
and given route holes. This seals the wood completely for better
protection against warping. Other manufacturers pre-stain slats
before cutting, leaving raw wood exposed in route holes and at
each end to absorb moisture. |
